Catholic Schools Week 2021

Catholic Schools Week is celebrated at the beginning of every February. To quote the National Catholic Education Association, "Catholic schools have a specific purpose to form students to be good citizens of the world, love God and neighbor and enrich society with the leaven of the gospel and by example of faith."

If you attended a Catholic school, share a favorite memory or what you feel you gained from a Catholic education by leaving a message below!

  1. As Pope Francis said, "Let us thank all those who teach in Catholic Schools. Educating is an act of love. It is like giving life."
Special thanks to all my teachers at NDSF from 1970-1974!

  2. I attended Notre Dame for 12 years from 1946 to 1958, and then for a year at NDB college for a year, too. I received such a good education at Notre Dame in Belmont, California, that I hardly opened a book in my freshman year at college. We were genuinely college prepared in the true sense of the words. We had a dynamic curriculum, art and science, history and P.E.–a very diverse and yet cohesive education–oh, and four years of a language other than English. Two years of Latin! Bet you don't see that anymore! Those two years of Latin helped with my acquisition of jobs: I sailed through the employment tests (yes, we had those back in the day.) I loved NDB and wish for it to be once again the vibrant full campus for women that it once was! And yes, it should be a Women's College just as it is for the highschool. Reconfigure your image and Carry On!!
