Our Lady of Guadalupe

This week, the Sisters gathered at the Province Center for a prayer service in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe. They began with a Reflection on the words that St. Juan Diego heard Mary speak to him in 1531:

“Hear me and understand well, my little son, that nothing should frighten or grieve you. Let not your heart be disturbed. Do not fear that sickness, nor any other sickness or anguish. Am I not here, who is your Mother? Are you not under my protection? Am I not your health? Are you not happily within my fold? What else do you wish? Do not grieve nor be disturbed by anything.”

The service also included a Prayer to the Virgencita Morena:

Help us Virgencita Morena, to banish fear from our hearts, that we may embrace each of your children as our own brother and sister,

Help us Virgenicta Morena, to welcome migrants and refugees with generosity, while responding to their needs,

Help us Virgenicta Morena, to learn the ways of peace and justice,

Help us Virgencita Morena, to share of our abundance as you spread a banquet before us,

Help us Virgencita Morena, to have love for all people, as we celebrate the many gifts that they bring

May the spirit of Sr. Kay McMullen, who loved our Dark Mother Mary, continue to live in our home and work place.

Virgenicta Morena, please listen to the petitions from Our Hearts…
