On April 18, 1906, San Francisco rocked and rolled with an earthquake measuring 7.1 on the Richter scale. Sisters of Notre Dame had both a convent and a large school in the Mission District. The journal of Sister Mary Brown gives us a peek into the chaos, destruction, and moments of kindness in the 24 hours that followed the quake.
